From Public Courts to the PPA Tour
After playing college tennis, Alex discovered pickleball during COVID in 2021 while playing on public courts with his mom and was instantly hooked. Just a year later he earned his first professional medal, and in 2023 he began competing full-time on the PPA Tour. Since then, he's traveled the country competing against the top players in the world, reaching a career-high singles ranking of #14 and earning sponsorships with brands like CRBN Paddles, Thorlos Socks, and JLab Audio.
Alex's interest in court design started when his mom decided to build a backyard pickleball court of her own. Going through that process showed him how much the planning stage matters, from layout and orientation to surface performance and long-term durability.
Today, through Backyard Pickleball Builders, Alex helps homeowners and property owners plan and execute pickleball court projects from concept through completion. He guides clients through the key design and planning decisions that make the difference between a court that simply looks good and one that truly plays well.
Each project is brought to life through a trusted network of vetted local builders, allowing Alex to combine professional playing insight with experienced construction teams while remaining involved throughout the process.
